What would a dream city be like? It would be beautiful, charming, full of confidence, sporty, cultured, dynamic and restful. On its doorstep would be the open countryside, mountains and the sea. There would be walks, cascades of water, hilltops - and why not a microclimate! That would mean that there would be palm trees, lemon trees and cacti. There would be palaces and a Chateau, parks and gardens, horses, and a history reaching back over thousands of years. It would have its own charm and its own projects.
That would be Pau - that is Pau! Just a touch British and yet totally part of the Béarn, proud of its past and happy with the present. Pau - the dream town.
